Mero Mero translates as "madly in love" in Japanese, and "the best" in Spanish, signifying my deep love and passion for the art.

Mero Mero is found by Xin Yi- a multidisciplinary artist who works with Photoshop, objects, painting, and text to convey her personal experience and emotions toward social issues, events, and philosophical topics. She specializes in wet mediums such as Chinese ink and oil painting as well as watercolor, gouache, and acrylic. She often incorporates and experiments with newfound objects to challenge the traditional meaning of art in gallery space using low grade materials. She believes readymade and creativity hold the power to convey difficult thoughts, emotions, and personal stories and challenge power structure.

Her artistic practice extends into curatorial work, and managing galleries where she has worked  with galleries such as LivingwithArt (2022-2025), Gallery1819 (2022-2025), and Art District SG (2025-), as well as participating in art events including the Affordable Art Fair (2022 - gallery representative & 2025 - fair assistant) and projects with the Singapore Art Museum (2021-2022), and STPI Open House (2022). She was part of the Curatorial Team for Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) Grad Show 2026, and Downsizing: Interbeing (2026), where both she worked for operational needs- liaising for equipment, lighting, designing gallery space and filming.  In April 2026, she has organized and curated an upcoming exhibition titled "Reimagined: Where is Home?"

She is also interested in how Art impacts the communities by interning in 3Pumpkins (2025), and currently undergo training as a part-time art teacher in Tree Art (2026).

Let's explore the wonder of arts together!
